Graffiti- greek for grafein- means "to write". Refers to a drawing or a scribbling found on Roman architecture. -  Dr. Sven Ouzman 

Graffiti- term applied to an arrangemnet of institutionally illlicit marks in which there has been an arttempt to establish some sort of coherent composition.
